Cookie Monster's Spoof of Icona Pop's "I Love It" Is Actually a Useful Health Tip (and Super Cute!)
I never thought I'd tell you guys this, but here I go: Next time
you're reaching for a cookie or other sweet treat, take a word of advice
from Cookie Monster. No, really. Our fuzzy blue friend has a
new video out spoofing Icona Pop's catchy "I Love It" with his own
version about self-control and regulation, "Me Want It (but Me Wait)."
Poor grammar aside, he's one smart cookie (yep, pun intended).

Share It Maybe
Oh, "Call Me Maybe," how do I love thee? Let me count the Raes. Cookie Monster pulls off what is definitely the hit song's
sweetest spoof yet, an ode to—what else—cookies, called "Share It
Maybe."
Automatic "Win the Internet" award for the Snickerdoodle rhyme alone, right?
"Share It Maybe" backup dancer Graydon Gordian, who writes for Sesame Workshop's new media team when he's not breaking out the moves, filled me in on some behind-the-scenes details.

Kristin Chenowith Makes Out With Elmo
NEW COUPLE ALERT: Here’s Broadway veteran Kristin Chenowith and talking-to-babies veteran Elmo kissing at a theater benefit in Manhattan last night:

Whoahoa, RACY! Hard to tell, but was there tongue involved? Or at least, that pink sewed-on Muppet flap that kind of looks like a tongue? Either way, if this couple is for real (Krelmo? Elmstin? Are people still combining couple names? Elmobrangelina?), they’ll give Macy/Huffman a run for Most Universally Likeable Couple.
This shocking gossip-development has been brought to you by the letters O, M, F, and G. And the number 5. (It’s just a cool number).

Sesame Street’s G Is My Favorite Show
This is “G,” a hilariously double-entendred title to their Glee mash-up, featuring a felt-butt-chinned Mr. Schue, a bitchy be-banged Lea Michele, an obviously Asian muppet, and Mercedes, who is full of muppety sass. And a slightly more butched up version of Sue Sylvester.
But honestly, to name the gayest sketch ever on Sesame Street G is G for GENIUS. “Just a small town G… just a city G…” I mean, kudos Jim Henson’s henchpeople, you have really nailed this one.
BONUS: A GOAT PLAYS GUITAR.

Ernie Goes #ScarletJohanssoning
Scarlett Johansson got hacked! Yes, it’s old news, but the world will never fully recover from being gifted with the opportunity to see NEKKID PICTURES (DUH)! The pics rapidly became a meme, in which #scarletjohanssoning was the new planking. The “hot, new thing” online quickly became (and remains) the act of taking an over-the-shoulder picture in front of a mirror that, like Scarlet, exposes one’s derriere. You can even submit your own pictures, since that’s how we live now. (“Please send pictures of yourself — posing, naked, like Scarlet Johansson in what was meant to be a private picture — to a stranger! Theenks!”)
Anyway, the best one yet is easily the cutest, if you can call it cute (you can). We’ll call it “Jim Hensonning”:

I really wish I had the opportunity to comment on Ernie’s a**, but this is good enough. Haha :D

Let Bert and Ernie Stay Single
An online petition by Change.org to have Bert and Ernie get married on Sesame Street is generating lots of buzz but also plenty of criticism—including from those who support same-sex marriage:
- Nicole Fabian-Weber, the Stir: "Utterly stupid idea." Why? "They're puppets. They bicker, sing songs, and teach kids how to count. They—and the rest of the characters on the show—shouldn't be marrying anyone, girl or boy." (Whitney Jefferson at Jezebel has a similar gripe.)
- Tracy Clark-Flory, Salon: "They're close buddies who happen to be lifelong roommates—and in a preschooler's universe this is totally appropriate! It's only in the adult world of defensive, 'no homo' heterosexuality that their cohabitation becomes problematic and laughable." How about we push for more gay celebrities to appear on the show "and leave the absurdity of debating puppets' sexuality to the homophobes."
- Alyssa Rosenberg, Think Progress: "If Sesame Street says the pair isn’t gay, it would be a bit odd to force them to get married because we want some role models." Also: "I think it’s actively unhelpful to gay and straight men alike to perpetuate the idea that all same-sex roommates, be they puppet or human, must necessarily be a gay couple."
- Andrew Sullivan, Daily Beast: "My gripe is that I've not just been fighting for gays to have the right to marry for two decades; I've also been fighting for them to have the right not to marry, if they so choose. And that applies to Bert and Ernie."
OPINION: Discussing two puppets' sexual orientation or their relationship status is efffin' retarded :P Boinkz!

Lindsay Lohan Passed Out On Sesame Street!
Oh wait. That’s not Sesame Street. It’s a viral marketing campaign for Air New Zealand featuring a Triumph the Insult Comic Dog knockoff named Rico, who is allegedly a squirrel? Whatever. You just do you, Air New Zealand!
It must have cost that country several bags of ca$h to get Lindsay Lohan, of all people, to sit down for a “candid” interview in which she must play a good sport while being subtly berated by a puppet. Cuz, honestly, what’s going on? Her hair is white, her lips are inflated, and everything is very, very sad.
But maybe she’ll fly to New Zealand for free now? Do they have courthouses in New Zealand? Can you drink and drive and be a part-time lesbian? Wish you were here, LiLo!

Elmo Manages To Find World’s Tiniest Space Suit

NASA is basically finished. I just felt compelled to bring you this photo of Sesame Street‘s Elmo in front of the countdown clock at the Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL. Elmo was in town to see off the final flight of the space shuttle Atlantis, and put on his best and smallest muppet space suit on for the (sad) occasion. Buh bye NASA :(

‘Spiderman’ Gets The Muppet Treatment
Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark is now officially on Broadway, and so far, nobody has died. Original “directator” Julie Taymor is gone, which apparently means that cast members have stopped breaking bones because there’s no longer someone commanding them to do flying cartwheels off of balconies or something. What a nightmare.
Anyway, it’s probably very good now (?), but even the Muppets are wont to poke fun at the show as it enters the theatrical arena for real. In fact, seeing Grover dressed up as “SpiderMonster” is definitely at least on par than seeing Spiderman, so here’s a worthy alternative for those of you who don’t want to shell out a hundred bucks for the real thing.
