German researchers say that people who a.) bike or b.) stretch often have better memories and thinking skills than those who don't. And, even better if you stretch and bike! The good news is, according to the study, you can reap these same rewards in as little as two hours a week of biking and/or stretching. And, who doesn't want to stay sharp, right?
Brain experts say that as we get older, the part of our brain associated with memory, the hippocampus, actually shrinks. Frequent exercise and use of your bod (be it cycling, stretching, etc.) can help mediate this process a bit.
