A Very Unnecessarily Awesome Lion King Poster

Not sure why 2012 is randomly re-obsessed with The Lion King again, but I’m not complaining. Here, in apropos of nothing in particular, is a really amazing stylized Lion King Eric Tan: poster from illustrator 

Cool! If that had been the actual Lion King poster when the movie first came out, there’s no telling how financially successful that movie could’ve been.

So between Lion King 3-D coming out last year, then The Lion King Rises mashup, plus this poster, and Mufasa literally appearing to us in the Northern Lights, what is the world trying to tell us? STAND UP FOR YOURSELF, FACE YOUR FEARS, FULFILL YOUR DESTINY, AND GO KILL JEREMY IRONS LION. Will do!

“The Lion King Rises” Is An Early Contender For Best Disney / Batman Mashup Of 2012

Here’s a mashup of the Dark Knight Rises trailer with footage from The Lion King, entitled, as you might guess, “The Bat King Lionses” (first joke of 2012 by me or anyone! It’s really just called “The Lion King Rises”).

Let the year of Batman commence! And the two-millenia period of The Lion King continue:

Oh Hello There, Crazy Northern Lights Face

Photographer Jonathan Tucker snapped this absolutely amazing photo of the Northern Lights looking like a face. Check it out using your own face.

See it? Preeettay cool, right?

As I’m typing this, the photo has already inspired a History Channel special Northern Lights Face: Man Or Myth? as well as two reality shows, Northern Lights Face Hunters and Ice Road Northern Lights Face Hunters.

So – coincidence, or is someone from The Lion King trying to send us a message…

I’m not saying it’s definitely a fictional lion that’s spiritually manifested itself in the sky to impart invaluable advice encouraging us to remember who we are, I’m just saying that it’s probably that.

The Lion King Bloopers You’ve Always Wanted

We can all probably agree that one thing we’re still missing from the experience of bearing witness to one of the best things Disney has ever created is the BLOOPERS AND OUTTAKES. That’s just something we always want to see. For many, we seriously appreciated when Dick Clark would gather the best clips of Candice Bergen flubbing lines of Murphy Brown. For others, it started when we stayed for the credits of Toy Story.
