MC Hammer & Psy: Together At Last

One big giant convention happened at the end of the AMAs when K-Pop superstar Psy and the ghost of Justin Bieber's future, MC Hammer, joined forces for a performance that took me slightly higher. Every time I hear that Gangnam Style song, it feels like my last nerve is getting stabbed repeatedly with a sequined knife, but this performance still took me higher for two reasons: 1) MC Hammer's bedazzled bandanna looks like a tiara straight out of the chola prom and; b) the awkward audience reactions to this shit. When you mix together Psy and a little bit of MC Hammer, it makes people bust out their sweetest and hottest neck bobs. I know Psy and Hammer are doing it right, because I screamed "Git it, grandpa" (at the 4:16 mark) at least twice.

The only thing missing from this is a cameo from Los del Río. Then this really would've been a wedding reception's wet dream come true.

Britney Spears Learns “Gangnam Style” Vs. Glee‘s “Call Me Maybe”: Battle Of The Memes

This is a rare moment in Internet trends — for me at least. Usually, by the time a meme goes mainstream, those of us who basically live online are sick of it. But somehow, I’m still not tired of seeing famous people dance to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe,” and Psy’s “Gangnam Style” dance is still as infectious as ever. 

First, we have Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres learning “Gangnam Style” from the master himself:

Four things about this: Psy is the most charming man on Earth. Britney deserves the Good Sport prize for dancing in those shoes. Britney also makes the best “concentrating” face. But we think Ellen is actually maybe better at Gangnam Style than Britney.

And next we have the remaining New Directions on Glee, not lip-synching to “Call Me Maybe” as per the usual meme, but covering it:

Meow. Looks like the graduated seniors have left a power vacuum back at McKinley, and Brittany, Blaine, Tina and Wade are all vying for top diva status. Love the juxtaposition of them shoving each other with the flirty lyrics and sound of the song.
