Beware of the "OMG Diet"

Have you heard of the "OMG Diet"? It's gone viral in Europe and will be coming our way soon. What you need to know...

Health experts are worried about a new diet book targeted at teens that has topped the bestseller charts in England. The self-published book, Six Weeks To OMG: Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends, reportedly has garnered its author, a personal trainer in the UK, a seven-figure book deal in the U.S.

But, health experts are very concerned about the so-called diet, which encourages girls to drink multiple cups of coffee, take ice cold baths and skip breakfast--all in the name of weight loss.
A physician in England, Dr. Ian Campbell, is very concerned. "My first thought is OMG! This book is encouraging extreme behavior," he said to the Daily Mail. "Teens are very vulnerable to diet fads, especially quirky ones like this. ...In reality will have little effect on weight loss and some of the advice like taking ice cold baths can be very dangerous. This is a cynical attempt to sell huge numbers of books and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it."

Presenting.. the CUTEST CARROT

How could ANYONE eat him? He’s so depressed!! He’s like a real man trapped in a tiny carrot body. And only in England would this carrot not only be saved, but be celebrated.

Cute carrot close-up ahead. My only criticism… no arms.

Aww he’s cute. I’d still eat him though with a side of hummies. (Hummus.)

This Is Your New London 2012 Olympics Logo

As a liphelong Anglophile, it genuinely pains me to see the destruction and rioting going on across England. Not to mention a year before London is to host the 2012 Summer Olympics, where certain athletes will “rain” supreme. (Because of all the rain there.) But given all the unrest as of late, this user over at Reddit has suggested a brand new logo. It’s the most depressing thing I’ve ever seen.

Harry Potter And The Really Amazing Maize Maze

Whether you’re a Harry Potter fan or just a fan of people devoting countless hours to ultimately meaningless but very cool-looking causes (got my attention!), you should check out this photo of a gigantic Harry Potter corn maze grown by a farmer in York, England:

The maze is made up of more than 1 million living corn plants, and each Harry Potter image contains subtle, intentional differences, making this officially the world’s largest “Spot The Differences” game. Because JUST growing a massive million-plant Harry Potter corn maze that wasn’t also another massive game you can only play from helicopters would’ve been for Harry Potter amateurs.

Verdict: Impressivisto!

That’s not a magic spell, that’s just what I say when I am impressed by corn, which is not often (unless it’s the band because then it’s ALWAYS). Almost as impressive as this one.

And if you want to virtually high-five the creator, here’s a photo of the farmer, Tom Pearsy, obviously:
