I realize, after watching this Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer, that it's been way too long since we've had a good dose of Andrew Garfield. When I watch him as Spider-man, I'm basically just twiddling my thumbs through the scenes where he's in costume (uniform? didn't mean to emasculate superheroes at large there) so that we can get back to him being in either a t-shirt or a pea coat. His real superpower is owning those looks like nobody's biz.
Now, I do have one complaint about the trailer: NOT ENOUGH EMMA STONE. Trailer, you are trying to distract us with Andrew and his hair and... what was I saying? Oh, right. There better be more Emma in the next one. It's bad enough that Shailene Woodley got totally cut out of the movie. Don't skimp on the Stone!
Take a look, and start getting psyched for May (May 2, the release date, that is, not Aunt May—Aunt May looks pretty stressed, per usual).
I won't bore you all with a lot of words because I know you
really just want to get to watchin', but the full-length trailer for One Direction's behind-the-scenes concert film, directed by Mr. Morgan Spurlock, is finally here, and I think it have everything you 1D fans could ever want: Baby photos, Harry Styles getting pantsed, charming cute-guy antics, and lots of screaming girls.
The upcoming Fast 6 aka Fast & the Furious 6 aka Ludacris is in this one
is bound to be the the series’ greatest. I know this because someone
told me so, and I trust their judgement. And if you really wanna know how fast things might get, here’s the trailer:
We’ve lived with the Dark Knight series so long, we frankly couldn’t imagine a superhero who wasn’t a little emo. Even The Avengers featured Mark Ruffalo‘s moody, broody Hulk. Luckily, as director Zack Snyder’s Tree of Life-looking teaser trailer suggested and the film’s new trailer confirms, Man of Steel‘s Superman is all about the feels. Even the film’s IMDB description
seems intent on resetting our expectations of Superman: “An alien
infant is raised on Earth, and grows up with superhuman abilities. He
sets out to use these abilities to guard his adopted world.” Uh, you
mean the story of Superman? Which everyone in the world knows by heart? Fair enough. While most superheroes tend to be somewhat emotional (does everyone’s parents have to be dead?), Man of Steel seems to score highest on the Brooding Superhero Trope scorecard:
A scraggly, waggly beard. The fact Clark Kent, the
most clean-cut of all superhero alter egos, now has a luxurious face
pelt suggests some moderate-to-heavy brooding. It’s all very Bruce Wayne
at the beginning of The Dark Knight Rises.
Paralyzing self-doubt. “The world is too big, Mom,”
Clark frets. Guess that explains the need for a Fortress of Solitude.
Also, the trailer opens with baby Superman asking his mom for help. Can
it get more emo than that? Somehow, yes!
Powerless father figure. Did Kevin Costner
just tell little Clark that he should have let a bus full of school
children drown? What kind of bunkum is this? No wonder that poor alien
is so mopey.
It’s an origin story. Gotta have an origin story,
baby! There hasn’t been a brooding superhero yet that didn’t get a film
dedicated to his origin story.
Ruminations on the meaning of a man’s life. “You
just have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be, Clark.
Whoever that man is, he’s going to change the world.” Oh sorry, are we not supposed tear up over a Man of Steel trailer? They wouldn’t have made it so poignant if they didn’t want us to cry! See you at the theaters on June 14!
We know we’ve been on the Anne Hathaway tip for awhile now (That hair!
That sweater! Dem teeth!) but we especially felt protective of the lady
when some would-be fans and critics started ragging on her about her vocals from the Les Miserables trailer. (We all saw the featurette! They sing those songs live in order that their voices break with emotion like that!) We especially want to rep Hathaway now that we got a taste of Russell Crowe‘s singing in the new Les Miz trailer that dropped today. It’s noticeably different than say, Hugh Jackman‘s or Amanda Seyfried‘s pipes. It’s not Pierce Brosnan in Mama Mia! bad…but it’s questionable at best. Luckily the new trailer also has some delicious shots of Sacha Baron Cohen and Helen Bonham Carter
as the fabulously greasy Thenadiers, so there’s a lot to love. And
really, we love Russell Crowe too! We’ve had a crush on him since Gladiator,
his beard looks great and we want to make-out with that giant hat he
gets to wear. We just might not love his shout-singing as much as some
other performer’s vocal contributions. Like, say, one Ms. Anne
Hathaway’s, for example. Anne Hathaway is going to blow everyone way as
Fantine! Mark our words!
Hey Jeremy Renner,
how’s it going? You look good. Really good, actually. I don’t know how
to start this conversation, so I'm just going to come out and say it:
there seems to be a witch using a machine gun in your Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters international trailer.
There’s also head-butting, a nightmare candy house and, from what we
can ascertain, a decapitation using string and the velocity of a flying
witch. I just want to make sure that you’re okay now that the trailer has dropped, and to make verify that you know you don’t have to take every action roleyou get offered anymore. Those days are behind you, Jeremy. I thought maybe after you’d stolen Mission: Impossible, The Bourne Legacy and The Avengers out from under Tom Cruise, Matt Damon and everyone but Robert Downey Jr.
respectively, you felt like you couldn’t turn an action role down? Then I realized that Hansel And Gretel was filmed back in 2011 before have its release date delayed,
and was only now being nudged out in January 2013, probably because you
became the world’s number #1 action hero. So maybe no
witch-slaughtering sequels, yeah? On the other hand, you do look crazy
hot in a steam punk vest, so what do we know? Why wouldn’t a witch use a machine gun, when you think about it?
Many a Twi-Hard heart was aflutter during MTV Video Music Awards, counting the seconds to the promised Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
sneak peek. Naturally it was held until well into the show, and now
we’re left wondering…was it worth the wait? Maybe we’re hitting the
early stages of Twilight burnout (say it ain’t so!) or maybe it
really was the same material we’ve seen mixed up a bit. 1. There will be blood, yes, and also sponsorship.
2. Jane has perfected her cat eye makeup.
3. Bella’s got mad cougar-catchin’ skillz.
4. Bella is totally willing to leap off a cliff.
However…. given real-life couple Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson‘s recent relationship turmoil… this GIF of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphriesvery unfortunately invaded this post. [Sorry, guys.]
5. This is Michael Sheen‘s mad face.
6. A werewolf makes for excellent getaway transport.
7. Bella’s got her fierce “running to battle” face down.
8. Ice, 0. Edward, 1.
9. Every couple should learn this collaborative windmill foot-to-face move.
The Reunion movie is Star Cinema’s next generation of Barkada movies
which features young actors such as Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, Xian Lim
and Kean Cipriano. The film is directed by Frasco Mortiz who happens to
be the son of Direk Bobot Mortiz and nephew of ABS CBN Executive Charo
Santos. Gee, I guess it must be nice to have a family in showbiz to get a
head start. The film is about four guys who obviously aren’t too happy with their
current careers in life. They deal with it by reminiscing how cool
their lives during their high school days. Eventually, they concluded
that their misery started with the breakup of their friend’s
relationship. By plotting to get them back together, they hope that
their lives will improve if that happens.
This is what Disney got when they threw together $200 million, Sam Raimi James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff (???) and slightly more special effects than your average Mimi photo shoot. This is the trailer for the prequel of Wizard of Oz, Oz: The Great And Powerful and it comes out next year after the world has ended :P
I was TOTALLY teared up while watching this trailer for the upcoming blockbuster version of Les Miserables--and you'll see why.
There's not exactly a lot of
hearing-the-people-sing triumphant moments in this preview--it's super,
super sad and dark, and backed entirely by Anne Hathaway's vocals on "I Dreamed a Dream."
In fact, Anne, in all her Fantine anti-glory, is pretty much the star
of the trailer. And it's breathtaking how different she looks. We get
to see exactly how she got that short hair:
Here, watch for yourself.
Did you catch the glimpse of Samantha Barks, the newcomer who beat out a bunch of A-listers for the part of Eponine?
Unofficially Yours star cinema’s romantic comedy starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz. This is a typical romantic comedy about friends with benefits. Well, I dunno why there’s a need to jump in the band wagon. We all know how this one would end, they will fall madly in love with each other harhar :P Anyhu.. papanoorin ko pa din naman to :D
Something you might notice in this brand new trailer for Men In Black 3: is that the movie’s usual craggle-faced co-star, Tommy Lee Jones, is barely in it. And just when you’re like, great, this is going to be 2 hours of Will Smith in a tux talking to slightly-better-than-Jumanji CGI effects, Smith time-travels back to 1969… where Tommy Lee Jones has been replaced by fellow craggle-faced actor Josh Brolin. I think we can all agree here…
It Shoulda Been Josh Hartnett.
I’m not complaining, but for real, am just trying to help Josh Hartnett find another vehicle. Here is the first official trailer for the film, which will be released May 25, 2012. Let’s not forget that Mr. Smith is 43 and looks like he still lives in Uncle Phil’s house…
