The Les Miserables Trailer Is Here

I was TOTALLY teared up while watching this trailer for the upcoming blockbuster version of Les Miserables--and you'll see why.

There's not exactly a lot of hearing-the-people-sing triumphant moments in this preview--it's super, super sad and dark, and backed entirely by Anne Hathaway's vocals on "I Dreamed a Dream."

In fact, Anne, in all her Fantine anti-glory, is pretty much the star of the trailer. And it's breathtaking how different she looks. We get to see exactly how she got that short hair:

Here, watch for yourself.

Did you catch the glimpse of Samantha Barks, the newcomer who beat out a bunch of A-listers for the part of Eponine?

10 Songs From The Upcoming And Necessary “Rocky” Musical

Sylvester Stallone is turning Rocky into a musical, co-produced by heavyweight champion boxers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko. Because nothing musical theater does can possibly shock or disappoint us anymore, rather than make fun of this ridiculous announcement, we’re just gonna sit back and embrace it.

Putting all our combined knowledge of Rocky and predictable pop-inspired musicals together, let’s predict 10 Songs From The Upcoming And Necessary Rocky Musical:

1. “Overture / Gonna Fly Now” (Rocky and Company)

2. “The Thrill Of The Punch!” (Rocky and Spider Riko)

3. “Drinkin’ Some Eggs, Punchin’ Some Meat” (Mickey and Rocky)

4. “Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Glasses” (Rocky, Adrian and Turtles)

5. “I’m Evil But Turn Wacky After A Couple Movies” (Paulie)

6. “Ain’t No Bum, Mick (The Bum Song)” (Rocky, Mickey, and Bums)

7. “You Can’t Catch Me!” (Chicken and Chicken Chorus)

8. “We’re Boxing Each Other Now” (Rocky and Apollo)

9. “(AAADRIAN is) All I Want (Adrian’s Theme)” (Rocky and Adrian)

10. “Let’s Fly Now Together / Gonna Fly Now (Reprise) / Eye Of The Tiger / Don’t Stop Believin” (Company)

Other Rocky song predictions? Leave them in the comments :P

‘Spiderman’ Gets The Muppet Treatment

Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark is now officially on Broadway, and so far, nobody has died. Original “directator” Julie Taymor is gone, which apparently means that cast members have stopped breaking bones because there’s no longer someone commanding them to do flying cartwheels off of balconies or something. What a nightmare.
Anyway, it’s probably very good now (?), but even the Muppets are wont to poke fun at the show as it enters the theatrical arena for real. In fact, seeing Grover dressed up as “SpiderMonster” is definitely at least on par than seeing Spiderman, so here’s a worthy alternative for those of you who don’t want to shell out a hundred bucks for the real thing.
