Wherever you go, there you are. At least that’s the rule for dopey morning TV personalities like Karl Stefanovic, who appears on Today in Australia. He had the chance to sit down with the Dalai Lama, to whom he lobbed a musty old joke about something or other. The Tibetan Buddhist leader — also, allegedly, the calmest guy in the world, according to very important people (me) — responded as best as anyone might in the same situation: with awkward, sympathetic disinterest.
