Seriously, can you imagine having someone like Chris Hemsworth come and save the day? Yowza. Are
celebrity heroes actually a thing? Turns out, there actually is quite a
number worthy of their own comic books!
1. Mila Kunis
When a 50-year-old man who works in Mila's home collapsed in a violent seizure, Mila rushed to his side, asked a friend to call 911, grabbed his head to prevent him from choking, and even volunteered to ride along with him in the ambulance.
2. Dustin Hoffman
In other recent celeb-saving-the-day news, a jogger credits Dustin Hoffman for saving his life after he went into cardiac arrest while running through London's Hyde Park. Dustin stayed on the scene until paramedics arrived and resuscitated the 27-year-old.
3. Kate Winslet
This story is so surreal (and awesome!) that it's hard to believe it's not fake, but I promise, Kate Winslet really did help carry Richard Branson's 90-year-old mother out of a burning building on his private island. "She was wondering when a Director was going to shout CUT!" Branson joked on his blog.
4. Patrick Dempsey
Hellooooo, McDreamy! Patrick not only saves lives on Grey's Anatomy, but also in real life. The actor saw a teenager's car flip over near his home in Malibu and rushed to the scene. He used a crow bar to pry the doors open, pulled the teen to safety, and called paramedics. It gets better—the teen's first words after being pulled from the wreck were "Are you famous?" "Yeah, I'm a doctor," Patrick replied. Eee!
5. Harrison Ford
Harrison's real-life heroics are on par with Indiana Jones himself. The part-time Wyoming resident offers his flying skills and helicopter for rescue missions—he even saved a pair of stranded hikers from a mountain wearing, of course, a cowboy hat.
6. T.I.
Rapper T.I. has what might be the most moving superhero story of the bunch. While on his way to a video shoot in Atlanta, he heard that a man was threatening to jump off of a 22-story building and commit suicide. T.I. quickly met with police and recorded a video message to the man that they then showed him. Persuaded, the man agreed to step off the ledge and meet with the rapper in person.
7. Ryan Gosling
Um, who can honestly forget the Gosling's many well-documented (and much beloved) heroic actions? First, he stopped a street fight on the streets of Manhattan. Then, he saved a woman from getting hit by a cab. As if we didn't already love him—and yes, his abs—enough. Le sigh.
Here's an awesome, totally Photoshopped pic of these outstanding celebs as superheroes. Enjoy!
Are there any superhero stars that I missed? And what did you think of The Avengers? I was in awe the whole time!
